BASS GUITAR GEAR

Playing Bass guitar in band?
i play guitar and i know how to play bass, i have a shit squire bass and a rogue amp. i wanna get more into bass because everyone play the guitar. my friends need a bassist for their band and i would play but my equipment blows. should i sell my gear and buy a good bass and amp? im on a tight budget of around $400. or should i get a setup and buy a better amp? any suggestions apprieciated
The best thing you could do on a budget would probably be to replace the Squire pickups and buy a bigger amp so that you will be able to play live. That will probably cost you about $60-$100 depending on the pickups you get. You should be able to get about the same tone that a real Fender would get.
You will need an amp with at least 100-300 watts if you wanted to play with a full band and still be heard. I’d recommend either one of these two:

The Backline 600 will require you to buy a cabinet that will cost you about $300-$400 as well so keep that in mind. The Acoustic B200 is a pretty good factory restock deal and it will let you add another cabinet to it if you need to.
