ROLLING STONE BEST GUITAR SOLOS

Solos by Hendrix, and their place in history?
It’s obvious to say Hendrix is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Personally, he’s in my top five (but not number 1). His ability to make the guitar sing for him and play while under so many different drugs is amazing.
The quesiton is, where do his solos stand among the greats? I don’t need rolling stone magazine’s ranks, I want to hear what YOU think. I think Hendrix was the greatest showman of all time, and a great guitarist too. But what do you think?
PS: I vote neutral for Best Answer, this is purely opinion…
Well, he is one of my favourite guitarists, but I like several equally for different reasons.
Jimi was a *huge* influence with many of the guitarists who’ve followed {Slash publicly states that Hendrix was his greatest influence}.
When Chas Chandler brought Jimi to the UK, he took him to a Cream gig. After Jimi asked, it was arranged for him to get up and jam with Eric Clapton. Eric was left astounded at Jimi’s playing, and actually left the stage and asked Chas “He really plays like that?!”

His X-Pensive Winos (with estimable drummer Steve Jordan filling the Charlie Watts role) lay it down in a tight-but-loose fashion, and it doesn’t hurt that Bootsy Collins and Bernie Worrell drop … |
