JAZZ GUITAR THEORY LESSONS
Learning jazz guitar?
I have been playing guitar for about five years now. Most of my training however is rooted in the blues genre. I’d like to learn guitar from a jazz point of view. I’ve played the piano for about 11 years now so I know a lot about jazz modal theory and the like. I also have played drums for about 7 years so I know jazz rhythms and all. Now, I would like to learn jazz guitar. Anyway, getting jazz guitar lessons would be my last resort in this case. Can anybody recommend a good book or webpage that teaches in depth jazz guitar theory?
Im 16 and switched to jazz about 3 years ago after playing blues/rock. Now its all I play, and It was hard to switch. But I recommend going to jazzguitar.be there are a bunch of lessons, transcriptions, and recordings on there. Maybe get some Abersold play-alongs. But really getting a professtional jazz player as a teacher like I do is best. You learn so much more.
