GUITAR RACK SETUPS
How to make a guitar rack system?

I want to have a rack setup for my guitar like big artists do, but I don’t know where to start. A few of my favorite bands are Slipknot, Tool, and Stone Sour so I’d like for my guitar to sound a bit like theirs. Hear are some things I’m thinking of getting for the rack system:

1. Mesa Boogie Triple rectifier
2. Crybaby Rack Wah
3. Boss GT Pro
4. GCX Audio Switcher

What do you think? and what should I start with? I have almost no idea how to set up a rack system, if you have any better suggestions for things to put on the rack then please include them.

Buy a rack case. After that, you just put the different equipment in the slots. There doesn’t NEED to be an order, although the amp usually goes on top or on bottom (in P.A. systems, at least). I’m not sure why you want a rack system for just your guitar. Usually they’re for the entire band, or sometimes they’ll have two for the band, and the combine guitars/vocals in one, and bass and drum mics in the other. But usually rigs aren’t used for just a guitar. If you do this, may I suggest also including:

BBE Sonic Maximizer (Sonic Maximizers are invaluable)
Korg DTR-2000 Rack Tuner
dbx 1074 Quadgate Noise Gate (This will cut the excess distortion from your guitar, so it’ll make the sound less cluttered. Also, it has 4 channels, which you by yourself won’t need, but if you have a band, you can hook more instruments up into it.)
