GUITAR JAZZ SCALES TABS

I need help improvising solos on bass guitar?
ok, im 13 im in a jazz club at my school, i improvise solos everyday, but i want to know the theory and i want to know the scales, the harmony, all that stuff so that i can improvise a good bass solo,
PS I have no idea on scales, music theory or harmony or anything like that, im just a dude who learned to read tabs and grabbed a 4string
take a theory class. hopefully you know intervals, that will be your biggest best friend. in jazz, almost every song is paired with a blues scale and you can solo off of any notes on the scale.
a blues scale: root (in a c scale, this is the c, etc), then go up three half steps, go up two half steps from there, from there go up one half step, from there go up one more half step, from there go up three more half steps, the last note is the root again.
these are the best options, but as you get better you can move off the scale.
if you hit a note that sounds bad, just hit the note right above or below and it will sound better.
also remember that solos are about freedom, so there are no limits. these are just basic guidelines =]
