GUITAR EFFECTS ORDER
What effect pedals should i buy?
I play Hardcore and Punk music. I want to place them in the right guitar effects pedal order.
For that kind of music, all you need is a distortion or overdrive pedal. There are many brands out there and the best way to determine the best one for you is to go to a music store and try out as many as you can – preferably with the same type of guitar and amp that you own.
As for pedal order, if you decide to get several pedals, I suggest these orders:
Guitar>distortion/overdrive>amp
Guitar>wah>distortion/overdrive>amp
Guitar>distortion/overdrive>modulation (chorus or phaser or flanger)>amp
Guitar>distortion>delay/reverb>amp
So, generally wahs and volume pedals go before distortion or overdrive pedals and anything else goes after that. If your amp has an effects loop feature, then place your modulation effects in there.
