GUITAR CAPOS KYSER
Calling all acoustic guitar players who use capos!?
I am looking at capos, and I have decided the choice is between these 4:
1.) kyser capo
2.) shubb capo
3.) planet waves dual action capo
4.) planet waves NS capo
I really need advice, because they all have their ups and downs. A lot of people say that kyser capos damage the back of the guitar and the fretboard. But, it also seems that the shubb has won many people’s votes for its reliability and extremely low damage to the guitar. But, the thing that I really like about the kyser capo is that you an store it on the headstock when not in use. Please tell me all you know about these, your pros and cons, and you experiences with them.
I’ve used Kysers on both acoustics & electrics for >5 yrs. & i hadn’t noticed any damage. Perhaps if the capo is left in the same position on the fretboard & not moved for a long period, i could see where damage might occur. But most ppl don’t play just one song on the same guitar for months at a time nor does any guitarist store his/her guitar with a capo on the fretboard.
i only put the capo on the headstock temporarily myself, otherwise it stays in the guitar case with picks, strap, etc.
