BEST GUITAR EFFECTS BOARDS
For a beginner guitarist: Pedal or multi effect board?
I’m a new guitar player, about a year, and want to know would it be best for me to get a single effect pedal like a Marshall Jackhammer, or a multi effects board like a Digitech RP150.
Is the sound from the multi effects board as good as what you’d get from the single pedal? Because if so I’d just get a 90$ board with loads of effects..
Also does the type of amp you use with the board affect the sound you get? I have a Fender Frontman 15G…
Dude woahwoahwoahwoahwoah slow down!!! After one year of playing the only pedal you could possibly NEED is a tuner pedal!!
Trust me, you will be absolutely fine with just your amp for now.
But, if you start playing for audiences REGULARLY and they enjoy your playing, a few effects might help. In that case, get some individual pedals, something like that Jackhammer will be way to complicated at this stage, who do think you are Slash? 
If you are just playing in your room and you want to play around with a few effects, borrow some pedals from a friend and/or plug your guitar into a mac. Then open up a new electric guitar project from GarageBand and bam, you have a whole selection of amps and pedals to play around with, just coming out of your computer’s speakers. Just be sure to press the edit button close to the amp’s head and make sure monitor is ON, or ON WITH FEEDBACK PROTECTION.
