What does a bass-guitar sound like “unplugged”?
The reason I ask is because I spend Nov-Sep with my dad in Virginia and he has a log cabin that doesn’t have electricity (don’t ask), and I was wondering if getting into the bass guitar would be a bad idea. I mean, I see nearly everyone on YouTube with all these crazy things that I have NO idea what they are… preamps, stomp-pedal, drum-machines, reverb stuff IDK! All I know is that they probably need either batteries or an outlet to use them.

To answer your question, it’s really quiet. Usually, basses need some type of amplification. It’s not a bad idea, but I wouldn’t bring one.
As much as I love bass, you need an amp and electricity; there’s no way around that..
You can also get an acoustic bass (no elec. needed) and electronic tuner (bring extra batteries), some acoustic basses have electric capabilities, but not all.
