BASS GUITAR LESSONS DVDS
How can I get better at bass?
Okay, so picture this. A small town surrounded by small towns. Yeah, it stinks. In order to take bass lessons I’d have to drive like an hour just to get to a music store. And then an hour back. So, I was wondering if anyone knew any good brands of books (the only kind I know is Hal Leonard) or specific books, DVDs, or even online teachers that I could use. I’m self taught but there are so many tricks and things that I just don’t know since there aren’t ANY bass players that I know of in my area. Any advice?
P.S. We don’t have a lot of cash right now, but we spent big bucks on a sweet guitar and a huge amp so yeah…
Also I do play songs. I’ve mastered a few Flyleaf and Evanescence songs. Paramore is a little harder because the bass fades in and out a lot. Like some parts it will be distinct and others you can barely hear it. So I already did that.
An alternative to buying books,DVDs, or paying for online teachers is to look up guitar tabs for songs that you enjoy. If a song calls for a skill you have not learned yet, you can look up a video of someone else playing the song and mimic them.
In that case, you could download a program onto your computer and increase the volume on the song so that you may hear it.
