BASS GUITAR JAZZ ARTISTS
Has there ever been a successful rock act with no drummer?
There are several famous examples without bass or guitar, but I can’t think of one without a drummer. It doesn’t have to be rock, but my guess is that’s where it would be, unless there’s some avant-garde jazz thing I’m not thinking of.
BQ: Name an artist you consider underrated, not in that they’re not well known by the public, but in that they’re critically dismissed. I mean Blink-182 more than Darkseed.
heres the avant garde jazz thing you are not thinking of- world saxaphone quartet. one of the more aclaimed avant garde jazz acts of the 80s, they were just 2 altos a tenor and a bari, no drum machine no nothing.
anyway, apart from that i can think of a few that used drum machines (they might be giants first few albums) and a few that were just a person and a guitar (the mountain goats first few albums)
