BASIC GUITAR THEORY LESSONS
Will I Get Into Berklee College Of Music?
I have a 2.6 gpa freshman year, and mabye a 2.7 this year. I have been playing guitar for 3 years and also sing. I have started to learn how to read music and know basic theory, plus i have lessons every week. I consider myself good and compose compositions with a similar percussive style that a michael hedges or andy mckee might have. I just want to know what my shot is at getting in.
don’t worry about your gpa- it really doesn’t matter to berklee. as long as you can keep it about where it is, you’ll be fine. definitely continue to take lesson and study theory as well as ear training, improv, and sight-reading. keep writing and developing your own style. if you can, put together and band and/or start playing shows solo. performance experience will make you a lot more comfortable for the audition. above all, choose a piece you love that shows off your skills well and has a lot of variety to it.
