picked up the bass guitar?

i been learning some tabs and how do you tell if its a cord a single note will have like 4 fret on E and 3 D like on the same line or like i dont know i now the basic way to read them but how do you tell if it is a chord or note

you can tell if its a cord if it has like open a 2 fret d string which is e and the other notes and it has it like dis look down
