BASIC GUITAR CHORDS LEFT HANDED
What should I do if I want to learn guitar, but I’m double-jointed?
I want to learn how to play the guitar, but I’m double-jointed just about everywhere possible, including my fingers. I started learning chords a while ago, and when I play the basic major chords such as G and C, my ring finger on my left hand (obviously) goes into double-jointed position, (you know, flat with the tip down) and by the end of one verse of the song it hurt like crazy!
What’s wrong? And is it okay for this to happen or am I somehow hurting my finger? It does not affect my playing.
Being double jointed won’t impair you from learning guitar. You have to only place your fingertips on the strings. The way you play the basic chords will eventually make your entire finger hurt. Only your fingertips are supposed to hurt since you’re building finger strength and want calluses.
