AGATHIS GUITAR BODY WOOD
agathis (guitar body//wood) what is agathis closest to (in terms of wood)?

i have an agathis body on my esp guitar.
now im buying new pickups and the “pickup finder” on dimarzio.com ask for what kind of body you have but the list of choices doesn’t have agathis.

it gives-
swamp ash
mahogany
basswood
poplar
alder.

i would like to know what kind of wood is agathis most like

Agathis is a genus of tropical conifers which belongs to the Araucariaceae, the same family as the monkey-puzzles and Cook-pines (Araucaria) and the Wollemi Pine (Wollemia).

Here’s a discussion about this type of wood being used for guitars. “Agathis is sometimes referred to as ‘commercial grade mahogany’.
