AC30 GUITAR AMPS
VOX AC15 OR AC30 to recreate the Shadows 60’s sound?
I play mainly shadows tunes on my Fender 57 reissue stratocastor.I currently have a Vox AD50VT but i am thinking of changing it to a valve amp to get closer to the real sound(60’s).I am torn between the two Vox amps.I am using a boss CS3 compressor/sustainer +Gemini 111(shadows guitar effect) + Yamaha Magic Stomp(with authentic Shadows echo patches).Please can anyone help me?
The Shads actually used AC30’s so..to be authentic…..GO GET ONE!! haha
Apart from the WEM copycat, the prince of echo units was the Binson Echorec (cost about £150 even in 1965). I once had a Burns Marvin (ooh). Bruce played a Tele early on (very solid player).
My elder brother was Shadows mad so I was brought up on them until The Beatles.
