Testimonials
"Jason, I received your fabulous Don Reno DVD instructional set. It is an excellent addition to my banjo refernce library and has more material in it than Carter has little liver pills. You did a superb job with this high quality product and I recommend it to anyone interested in Don Reno style. Now the difficult part, me absorbing all that information. LOL. Thanks for creating such an invaluable instructional set!"
Lloyd F. -San Antonio TX.
"The best Reno stuff on the market and as good as any banjo instruction I've seen of any kind. If you're interested in Reno picking this set is a must. I was sort of expecting a guy in his garage with a video camera and a bedsheet for a background, but these are slick and well-done. The production level is as good as anything on the market, the DVDs have pro-looking menus and are easily navigaged, and the instructional material is well-filmed, clear and easy to follow. Jason also included a CD of his family band that I've been playing on my way to and from work for the last week, an unexpected bonus. I felt it was well worth the price, and I'm a definite cheapskate."
Jadie M. -Lampasas, Texas
"Hi, just wanted to say I got my DVD set the other day and was just blown away. This is like hitting the Reno lottery. The workshop DVD is also very impressive. I immedently saw mistakes or things I wasn't doing on many licks. The Reno roadmap is a super idea - much better than giving you tab and saying "Here you go, memorize it."
Paul Jarvis-Albany KY
"I want to publicly thank Jason Skinner for the wonderful DVD set he is offering on Reno-style banjo. His explanations of many of Don's signature techniques, and his comparisons of how Don's rolls and licks vary from Earl Scruggs' versions, are very informative and should offer any serious banjo player plenty of opportunity to expand his or her own repertoire. Anyway, a big "Thank You" to Jason for his fine work with these DVDs. If you like listening to the best of the classic Reno material from the 1950s and '60s, you should get these DVDs and give some of the techniques a try. Doing so may help you to decide where you want to go with your playing and perhaps assist you in establishing YOUR special sound. And you'll be paying your respects to one of the true pioneers on the 5-string banjo."
Paul Bock-Hamilton VA
I have received and have been working for a few hours out of Jason Skinners' "The Don Reno Banjo Workshop" and to say the least it is beyond fantastic. His explanation of Reno's style and method of showing licks is the "cats meow" I am playing stuff that I could not figure out for the life of me, but Jason's explanations are clear concise and without question one of the best formats I have ever seen. I have very large library of thirty five years. If you are interested in learning something new and exciting I would advise anyone to give this a try. I am playing and implementing some really hot Reno stuff already in my playing.
