The truth behind the myth that Don Reno never used a capo. Also Jason discusses the pros and cons of using a capo.

Reno Chords-

You'll learn some of Don's unique chord positions.

What's That Clicking Sound-

Jason shows you how Don got that "clicking" sound in his tunes and back up.  You'll also learn some of the many ways to use it.

The Reno Roadmap Of The Banjo-

You'll learn how Don created many of his famous tunes and breaks by using certain walk ups and chords positions. Jason shows you how these positions and patterns will allow you to play in any key without the capo. The Reno Roadmap will also allow you to figure out many of Don's famous breaks as well as create your own.

You'll learn how to play Double Banjo Blues and even more variations that Don never recorded.

Reno Ride-

Jason plays the tune Reno Ride. Then he thoroughly teaches you how to play the basic tune as well as some of the many variations that are possible.

I'm Using My Bible For a Roadmap

You'll learn Don's break to this Reno And Smiley Classic. Jason covers the original break and the later version using the brush technique.

Carry Me Back To Old Virginia

Jason plays Don's beautiful version of Carry Me Back To Old Virginia and explains it in detail. He also shows you how to help get "feeling" into the tune.

Pretending

You'll learn Don's break on the duet "Pretending". Jason teaches you in detail how to play the tune and demonstrates how full chords can be used to create a break.

 Disc Five: Reno Tunes and Breaks

Banjo Riff-

Jason plays the tune Banjo Riff. Then he explains the tuning and the trick to putting the "Riff" in Banjo Riff. You'll also learn some unique chords that Don used in "D" tuning.

Green Mt Hop

Jason plays one of Don's most popular tunes, Green Mt hop. You'll learn the secret to doing the "crazy" pull off lick that makes the tune so infamous.

The Skinner Family Band Performs

This segment highlights some great tunes from a recent performance by The Skinner Family Band.

I have received and have been working for a few hours out of Jason Skinners' "The Don Reno Banjo Workshop" and to say the least it is beyond fantastic. His explanation of Reno's style and method of showing licks is the "cats meow" I am playing stuff that I could not figure out for the life of me, but Jason's explanations are clear concise and without question one of the best formats I have ever seen.  I have very large library of thirty five years.  If you are interested in learning something new and exciting I would advise anyone to give this a try.  I am playing and implementing some really hot Reno stuff already in my playing.
